Well after a super unpredictable wild card round *cough* the field has been set for the second round of the NFL playoffs and all but one of the matchups have a ton of intrigue and question marks of who is going to pull it out and get a shot at their Conference Championship.
The first match up we have is Seattle at Atlanta, Seattle as noted before has been inconsistent at best this year. One of the key matchups in this game is Jeremy lane covering Mohamed Sanu in the slot, Lane has not played well at all this year and being without Earl Thomas calling the coverage’s he has played even worse. Sanu should see a lot of targets tonight and produce a 100+ yard plus game. The Falcons defensive line should also produce a 4-5 sack game with double-digit hurries.
Seattle 13 Atlanta 34
Houston travels to New England where they are 16 point underdogs (the disrespect! lol) I think Clowney/Mercilus/Bouye can be a pain in the ass for Brady but we all know Tom will still get his. The Houston offense just hasn’t done enough for anyone to think they can pull this off, although anything is possible in the NFL I don’t think that will be happening in this game.
Houston 16 New England 24
The Packers/Cowboys matchup has drawn the most debate due to how well Aaron Rodgers has played over the last month but when you look a little closer at the rest of the teams matchups it’s not looking good for Green Bay. Dallas’ secondary is better than GB WR corp without Jordy Nelson, that will give David Irving time to hunt down Rodgers. The Packers defense does not matchup favorably at all to Dallas’ offense whether it’s the O line, the WR corp or the backfield. Aaron Rodgers will have a good day today but it wont be enough to pull out the win in Dallas.
Green Bay 21 Dallas 31
The Chiefs and Steelers’ match up will be the most fun to watch in my opinion, players like Eric Berry going against Leveon Bell, Marcus Peters vs Antonio Brown will be awesome to watch and track all game. Both teams have been playing great football but Kansas City has been a little more battle tested recently and keep finding new ways to score TDs.
Steelers 21 Chiefs 28
With these outcomes here is what your Championship round looks like…
Atlanta Falcons @ Dallas Cowboys
Kansas City Chiefs @ New England Patriots
